If you have a dog with a lot of energy, running would be perfect. They would learn disciplined running either on the lead in the winter or cross country in the summer. The hour would consist of a 5 minute walk to warm up, then a 45 minute run with a 10 minute walk to finish and bring their heart rate down. They would learn that this is a time to concentrate on running so no sniffing is allowed.
Its important that if your dog has not run before you ask your Vet first.
My rates for running are the same as walking.
