Koko's Trails

We provide group dog walking for all types and sizes, picking them up directly from their home and taking them out into the fields for an hour of fun and exercise. We prioritise socialising and play between dogs — as well as with us — and offer a high-energy experience that many aren't able to get elsewhere. We work to fit your dog into the right pack, matching them with playmates while carefully moderating interactions to ensure a safe and fun-filled time. High-quality pictures, videos, and tracking maps are sent to you via WhatsApp after every walk, along with any important information about your dog's well-being we think you might need to know. The dogs are transported in an estate car with a modified interior for safety — including covers, dog seat belts, and secure caging. Our car’s exterior has no dog branding, to avoid being a target for thieves. We hold a 4★ Animal Welfare License, Canine First Aid Level 2 Certification, and full insurance through Pet Business Insurance.

We will be walking your dog in groups in the fields outside Leicester for an hour (often slightly longer). In that time, we cover about 1.5–3 km depending on the conditions and the fitness level of the group. Walks are £13, with either a morning or afternoon group available. Alternatively, we offer day-boarding for £30, taking them on both walks, so you can drop them off in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon. We always walk the same area as it is far away from roads, and we are familiar with all the locals, making things safer for everyone. We provide treats, poo bags, and custom ID tags, along with a brief paw wash, rinse down, and towel rub at the end of the walk. We emphasise high-energy, active walks with a variety of stimuli to explore — from sniffing to swimming. Whether it's from matching our personality or pure coincidence, our groups tend to be particularly bouncy and energised, making the most of every second of the walk. Despite all that energy, we stay attentive to moderating play and calming things down if we feel the adrenaline levels have gotten too high — especially for those with sensitive bones and bodies.

We offer dog boarding at our home near Knighton Park for £35 a day, including a daily walk and lots of cuddles — for all those that walk with us at least once a week. This is because we need to know the ins and outs of the dogs we commit to boarding, so we can be certain we can accommodate them safely, for both us and the dog. We have a 4★ dog boarding license from Leicester City Council (AWL0013), which means we’re set up to a very high standard. We’re assessed on everything from property size, facilities, and dog equipment, to disease and virus control protocols — we even have AC cooling for those hot summer days! We take dog boarding bookings well in advance, so you can book out the school holidays and guarantee your dog will be with someone they love — and you can trust.

Hi, I'm Yvonne (left) and I work with Jack (right)! I started Koko's Trails seven years ago, naming it after my beloved chocolate Labrador, Koko, who has now sadly passed. I've owned many dogs since I was a child — including my Border Collie Suzie, Cocker Spaniel Maxi, and of course, Koko. (Soon, Chili the Yellow Lab will be joining the list!) Jack started working with me over the last year to help out now that I have my boarding license. Together, we're able to give even more personal attention to those in the group who need it most — like puppies!
